Angela John, Doctor of Audiology, will demonstrate — live — how a mold for custom ear plugs is made. Why go custom? Read how they transformed my sleep and is hand-down the best money I’ve ever spent.
The Best $180 I Ever Spent Went Into My Ears
I learned ear plugs came in various sizes and the color of the foam indicates the level of squishiness. My sleep arsenal already included sleep masks and white noise. Blocking out noise while I slept was helping, if they stayed in all night. Often I’d wake up to find a stray bud lost in my hair.
Until I found the perfect pair. Custom, of course.
Dr. John spends her free time practicing Pilates, travelling internationally and attending musicals and concerts. So she’s a perfect person to ask how we should protect our ears at concerts and to explain the risks we take when we don’t.
She has her B.S. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and her Doctor of Audiology. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She is available by appointment at Total Hearing Care located at 4130 Abrams Rd. Dallas, TX 75214 (214) 827-1900.

Bring your questions. Nothing is too odd or gross.
Questions I’ll Ask
I go to tons of concerts: what should I do to protect my hearing? What risks am I taking when I don’t? As that’s typically the case.
Blackheads in ears: you too? We’ll talk about how to prevent them.
What are we doing wrong when it comes to ear health?
