Out for dinner over the weekend, I heard something horrifying when I ordered my drink with Topo Chico, my bubbly beverage of choice.
“We don’t have Topo Chico”
“We don’t have Topo Chico,” our lovely waiter Carlos informed me. Here we were, out on a weekend night, which is a total rarity as I typically want to be home in pjs after a long week of work. The music was outstanding, seriously a playlist I would have created and called ideal. And there were plants everywhere, to the point I started to think I can double the number I’ve got indoors at home.
But this — this was no good.
“Sorry,” I asked, thinking I must have misunderstood.

“Haven’t you heard? There is a shortage of Topo Chico. Aside from what’s already out there in stores, there is none to be found.”
